Celebrating the Ordinary Challenge – Day 5

The magic of BOOKS! The ability to transcend time and space and even reality…I don’t get to spend enough time with them, they clutter up my nightstand, and my office, and my kitchen, but it’s hard not to love a book!

One of the most exciting things in my book world is that fact that my son, nearly 14, is now reading really great books! And whether he likes it or not, I’m enjoying the chance to read along with him. Must run…he’s already finished A Separate Peace – I’m falling behind!

You and I share a love of books, Lori. I haven’t succumbed to the e-reader craze, as I savor the smell and tactile feel of the hardcovers and paperbacks. How wonderful that your son is into reading as much as you. My oldest son benefited most from our library trips, and as a result, he never goes anywhere without a book in hand. And this mama is so proud. Thanks for the tribute to the extraordinary-the magic of reading. xox

I have to admit, I do read many books electronically now. I miss the turning of pages, the smell of old books, and knowing how far til the end, but I enjoy being able to have a whole bunch of books with me wherever I go, and the ability to purchase whatever tickles my fancy in the middle of the night!

I”m with you! LOVE LOVE LOVE books! I’m also in agreement with Jan’s comment…check out one of my first blog posts about my love of reading. I can’t do the e-reader thing either. Give me a BOOK! http://wp.me/p1Qnnj-J

So glad to “meet” you! I have to admit that while I am an “e-reader” there is no substitute for holding a book. Sadly, however, society clearly does not agree, as bookstore after bookstore after bookstore closes its doors. Alas….

I would add music to your list, and life would be perfect! Well, and coffee, and chocolate… Seems there are just wonderful treats in the world. Thanks again for sparking this challenge, Marie!
